A Path of Fire. A Practice of Transformation.
Agniyana means “the path of inner fire” — and it is the path I’ve dedicated my life to. I am Dustin Bunnell, a published author, life-long student, martial arts teacher, and Martial Arts Researcher with over four decades immersed in training as a Kung Fu practitioner, Qigong disciple, and Chinese Martial Artist. As a Martial Arts Teacher and Researcher, my mission is to preserve rare martial knowledge while sharing modern methods of Martial Arts Training for health, strength, and transformation.
Agniyana is more than a fitness system or martial art style — it is a living practice that merges ancestral wisdom, internal alchemy, and modern performance science. It is a path for Martial Arts Practitioners, Researchers, and Teachers who seek to reclaim their body, refine their energy, and walk the ancient path with modern feet.
Who Am I? Martial Arts Researcher, Teacher & Author
I’ve spent over four decades immersed in martial arts research, ancestral strength training, meditation, Yoga, and healing practices. As a Martial Arts Teacher, Researcher, and published author, my journey has never been about mastering just one discipline — it’s been about remembering, preserving, and sharing the wisdom of them all.
From earning a 3rd Degree Black Belt in KI Fighting Concepts under the late Joseph Simonet, to studying Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Kali under Paul Vunak, a 3rd Level Black Sash in Wing Chun under Sam Chan, and becoming a certified Instructor in Pak Mei Kung Fu, my core martial arts training spans multiple systems and lineages.
I am also certified in Therapeutic Qigong, Tai Chi 24-Form, and Tai Chi for Seniors under Dr. Aihan Kuhn, and continue to study Qigong, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and internal arts under Grandmasters such as Shou Yu Liang, Helen Liang, Chenhan Yang, Mimi Kuo-Deemer, and others. My internal arts practice includes Yin Yoga, Meditation, Breathwork, and Taoist energy systems, blending physical, mental, and energetic development.
I’m certified in:
Martial Arts Systems
Jeet Kune Do & Filipino Kali (Paul Vunak)

More than just a practitioner, I am a Martial Arts Historian, documenting and preserving rare lineages, martial texts, and cultural insights so this knowledge is never lost. But beyond titles and certifications, my real work is in the fire — the fire of discipline, personal evolution, and transformation. That’s the fire I bring to every class, every course, and every breath of Agniyana.
“Through decades of study, practice, and research, I’ve learned that martial arts, internal arts, and fitness are not just skills — they are a living path of embodied wisdom, resilience, and transformation.”
What I Teach
Agniyana brings together six powerful pillars of Martial Arts Training, blending ancient traditions with modern strength and resilience practices:
Sacred Body Practices – Hatha Yoga, Tantra Yoga, Yin Yoga, Mantra, Meditation & Breathwork: Develop flexibility, energy awareness, and mindful movement. These practices strengthen the body, calm the mind, and cultivate a resilient and balanced foundation for all martial arts training.
Internal Alchemy – Qigong, Neigong, Chinese Medicine, Five Elements, Daoist and Yogic Energy Systems: Learn to harmonize breath, body, and energy. Internal Alchemy teaches control, awareness, and the transformative power of subtle energy for healing, longevity, and martial mastery.
Foundational Conditioning – Calisthenics, Mobility, Kettlebells, Steel Mace, Indian Clubs, Ancestral Strength: Build strength, stability, and endurance through functional movement and traditional conditioning methods. These exercises prepare your body for martial arts, internal practice, and daily life.
Martial Arts Lineages – Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, Pak Mei, Filipino Kali, KI Fighting Concepts: Study authentic techniques, strategies, and forms from diverse lineages. Each system teaches precision, timing, and practical application while preserving historical and cultural integrity.
Energetic Resilience – Pranayama, Somatic Healing, Internal Martial Arts & Longevity Training: Strengthen your body and mind by cultivating resilience. Breathwork, internal arts, and energy practices improve recovery, reduce stress, and enhance overall vitality.
Transformation Through Practice – Building a daily rhythm that heals, strengthens, and empowers: Integrate all pillars into a consistent practice that reinforces discipline, awareness, and personal growth. Martial arts becomes a living path of embodied wisdom, not just physical technique.
Why I Teach Martial Arts Research and Training
As both a teacher and Martial Arts Historian, I’ve seen firsthand how internal discipline transforms external reality. Through decades of practice, research, and teaching, I’ve learned that breathwork can dissolve trauma, martial training can rebuild confidence, and moving through pain with awareness can liberate rather than limit.
My mission is to provide students with authentic, historically grounded instruction that combines martial skill, internal arts, and holistic development. Through my published books, translations of rare Chinese martial arts texts, and ongoing research, I share knowledge that preserves ancient lineages while offering practical applications for the modern practitioner.
For example, students who integrate Qigong, Tai Chi, and breath-centered practice into their training often report increased focus, reduced stress, and faster recovery from injury — demonstrating how internal and external work together.
Agniyana is for anyone ready to evolve not through hacks or hype, but through dedicated practice. Ancient, honest, embodied methods remain the most effective path to strength, resilience, and personal transformation.
